Live Day 7: Brazilian Bronze

Hits: 144

WINTERTHUR. Even the massive home crowd wasn’t enough to lift Switzerland to the win. The hosts looked flat never really firing in the game. In fairness Brazil were on fire obviously pumped for the win. Although the win was in four straight sets, the game wasn’t as decisive as the scoreline suggests. Switzerland were outplayed on the day by another world class team. Joy and sadness stood side by side in stadium Schützenwiese after the match this afternoon.

Live Day 6: Germany in the final. Switzerland will fight for the bronze

Hits: 156

WINTERTHUR. The Swiss team came out fighting hoping to knock the favourites off the top spot. Unfortunately for the home team and their fans it wasn’t meant to be with Switzerland losing 3:0. The atmosphere at stadium Schützenwiese was like a final, there were 5,237 people inside and with the majority of the crowd supporting the home side the disappointment is palpable.

WINTERTHUR. With the third day of competition about to begin we have some thrilling games to watch. Yesterday’s preliminaries held little surprise in the top two Groups with Austria, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland all winning their games of the day. We will have a better idea of the placings of the top four at the end of today however, with Germany to play Austria at 1900 and Switzerland to play Brazil at 2015. For Groups C and D, the top two teams are clear cut and are The Czech Republic and Namibia.
